Jeremiah Smith sets Ohio State mark with 217 yards, four TDs

Jeremiah Smith caught 12 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns as Ohio State beat Illinois 42-19 on Saturday, improving to 3-1. He became the first Buckeye receiver with at least 10 catches, 200 receiving yards and four TDs in a game.

Three of Smith’s touchdown catches came in the first half; he scored his fourth early in the fourth quarter. Through four games this season, he has 33 receptions for 617 yards and seven touchdowns. Ohio State next visits Iowa on Oct. 3.
