A group prosecuted over the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack is suing the federal government for restitution, alleging constitutional violations. Plaintiff Lisa Eisenhart says her prosecution and detention caused physical, emotional, reputational and economic harm.
Eisenhart alleges retaliatory prosecution, discriminatory detention and deliberate indifference to her health and safety. She was sentenced to 30 months in prison and her son, Eric Munchel, to 57 months; President Donald Trump pardoned both shortly after taking office in 2025.
