In “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” Brian pledges 100 men to the Jacobite cause; Dougal lets him stay at Castle Leoch for the celebration. Actor Jamie Roy says their fight helps Dougal see Brian as a good man, and going to war together later will deepen their bond.
Brian had first set out with his father, Lord Lovat, to gather men for Clan Fraser as the 1715 Jacobite Rising approached. He then went with Murtagh to Castle Leoch to make sure Ellen, his love, had not been hurt by her brothers. Roy said many MacKenzies see the Frasers collectively and assume they are like Lord Lovat.
