With a 3-0 record and No. 1 rankings in total defense and scoring defense, Iowa visits Michigan for its first road game of the season Saturday afternoon. Michigan has won the teams’ last four meetings; Iowa’s most recent victory was in 2016.
The Hawkeyes beat Northern Illinois 40-0, Iowa State 16-13 and Northern Iowa 51-0. Against Iowa State, they trailed 13-10 entering the fourth quarter before Caden Buhr’s two field goals secured the win. Michigan leads the all-time series 43-14-4, including a 23-6-1 record at Michigan Stadium.
Iowa’s initial availability report listed Kamari Moulton, Brevin Doll and DJ Vonnahme as questionable, and defensive back Kyler Gerardy as out. Michigan coach Kyle Whittingham described the Hawkeyes’ defense as physical, disciplined and technically sound.
