An 86-66 loss to Minnesota and other final-day results left the Indiana Fever sixth. They open a best-of-seven playoff series against the defending champion Las Vegas Aces in Las Vegas Sunday at 4 p.m. ET, after going 2-1 against them in the regular season.
Indiana averaged 96 points per game and scored at least 100 in 20 games, breaking the previous mark of 11. Kelsey Mitchell averaged 24.7 points and Caitlin Clark 22.3, but the Fever allowed 90.4 points per game, fifth-worst in the league. The Aces averaged 91.5 points, the league’s second-best offense.
Game 2 is Wednesday in Indianapolis. If needed, Game 3 is Friday in Las Vegas.
