Imanaga and Houck start as Cubs and Red Sox play Game 162

The Cubs and Red Sox meet at Tropicana Field Sunday for Game 162, with Chicago’s Shōta Imanaga facing Boston’s Tanner Houck. Imanaga has a 1.96 ERA in four September starts; Houck has not pitched in MLB this year after Tommy John surgery.

Houck underwent Tommy John surgery after nine starts in 2025 and has made four minor-league rehab outings this year, throwing eight innings with a 3.38 ERA and 0.875 WHIP. Imanaga’s last start against Boston was July 19, 2025, when he threw seven shutout innings and struck out five. The game is on Marquee Sports Network.
