Raiders edge defender Kwity Paye missed Thursday’s practice with an illness ahead of the Week 3 game against New Orleans; his availability for the matchup remains uncertain. He has two sacks and five quarterback hits in Las Vegas’ first two games.
If Paye is unavailable, Malcolm Koonce is likely to take on a larger role on the edge, with Patrick Johnson getting more snaps behind him. Paye also moves inside alongside Koonce in a third-down package; who might fill that role is unclear, with Adam Butler, Jonah Laulu and Thomas Booker IV among the candidates.
Quarterback Aidan O’Connell also missed practice for personal reasons, while safety Treydan Stukes remained in concussion protocol after leaving last week’s game early. Tight end Brock Bowers was limited for a second straight day. Nakobe Dean, Foley Fatuaksi, Darien Porter and Dareke Young were upgraded from limited to full participation.
