IHH Healthcare says its subsidiary Northern TK Venture has appealed a Tokyo court’s September 10 dismissal of a claim seeking up to 109.3 billion rupees ($1.14 billion) in damages from Daiichi Sankyo over NTK’s purchase of a stake in India’s Fortis Healthcare.
The court also ordered IHH’s unit to bear litigation costs. NTK filed its petition in May 2025, seeking to revise the damages sought from Daiichi Sankyo.
IHH said it plans to raise its Fortis stake to 51% over the next three to five years and further integrate its Fortis and Gleneagles platforms. It acquired a 31% stake through NTK but later halted an offer for another 26% after Daiichi Sankyo filed a contempt plea against Fortis’s founders.
