PicPay targets insurance platform with Kovr deal and 53% Estrutural stake

PicPay’s Kovr acquisition and 53% controlling stake in Estrutural Corretora support its push for an end-to-end insurance platform. The plan pairs Kovr’s digital insurance and underwriting with Estrutural’s brokerage, aiming to give PicPay more control.

Kovr also offers technology, product-development expertise and operational capacity across insurance categories. PicPay expects a smooth integration because Kovr has been a long-term strategic partner; the strategy could reduce reliance on third-party providers and capture margins previously shared with them.

The article flags evolving Brazilian insurance oversight, integration risks that could affect operations or customer relationships, possible capital strain or diverted management attention, and competition. It also says projected cost savings and improved unit economics may fail to materialize. PicPay’s active client base reached 45.4 million in Q2, up 9% year over year and 2% sequentially. Insider Monkey’s 13F-based figures show hedge-fund ownership falling from 23 funds in Q1 2026 to 13 in Q2; short interest stood at 2.67%.
