If QQQ’s 21% annualized return persists, $10,000 could top $3 million in 30 years

Motley Fool

Invesco QQQ Trust posted a 572% total return over the decade through Sept. 22. If its 21% annualized return since 2016 held for 30 years, $10,000 invested today would exceed $3 million; the author warns that past performance may not continue.

Technology accounts for 66% of QQQ’s assets, while its 10 largest stocks make up 47%. The article credits mobile and cloud computing, digital advertising and, more recently, AI with helping boost major holdings such as Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft and Meta Platforms. Nvidia is the fund’s largest holding.

Adding $100 a month to the initial $10,000 investment under the same 30-year return assumption would bring the projected balance to nearly $5 million. The author’s bullish case is that AI could drive further growth at major technology companies; the counterpoint is that slower revenue and profit growth could temper share-price gains.
