Guggenheim lifts Foundayo revenue outlook as prescriptions grow

Guggenheim raised 2027 and 2028 revenue forecasts for Eli Lilly’s oral obesity drug Foundayo to $1.8 billion and $3.7 billion, from $1.2 billion and $2.4 billion, respectively, as prescriptions improved. Its 2026 estimate was unchanged despite a lower modeled 2.5-mg price.

IQVIA data showed Foundayo prescriptions rose nearly 8% to about 47,500 in the reporting week through Sept. 11. Lilly said on Sept. 14 that Foundayo had captured more than 30% of new U.S. patients in the oral obesity-treatment market, helping narrow rival Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy pill’s early lead. CVS Caremark began covering Foundayo June 1, and Zepbound coverage is scheduled to resume Oct. 1; Lilly said the changes mean all three largest U.S. pharmacy benefit managers will cover its full obesity-medicine portfolio.

Lilly reported a 60% increase in worldwide volume in Q2, partly offset by a 13% decline in realized prices. It raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $85 billion–$87 billion, from $82 billion–$85 billion.
