Hatsune Miku’s new EP, EMERGE M♡DE MIKU, brings the virtual singer together with Grimes, MOLIY and other international artists, alongside Japanese VOCALOID producers. Released as part of BEYOND BORDERs, it is available on streaming platforms.
Other artists on the EP include Odetari, George Clanton, Frost Children, slayr and XAMIYA. Japanese producers jon-YAKITORY, SatapanP and picco contributed original songs with Miku. The focus track, “All Mine,” features Ghanaian singer-songwriter MOLIY; George Clanton appears on “All Across The World,” produced by picco, and Frost Children on “Choosy,” produced by jon-YAKITORY.
BEYOND BORDERs is a Dwango initiative connecting Japanese creators with artists, producers and songwriters abroad; the article says Japan’s Ministry of Culture supports it. The article describes VOCALOID as a music-production tool using licensed vocal libraries with real voice actors, not generative AI. Crypton Future Media CEO Hiroyuki Itoh said Miku drew roughly 100,000 fans across a 15-city North American tour this spring.
