Gotham rookie Jordynn Dudley has become a regular starter, contributing on both sides of the ball as the defending NWSL champions chase their first Shield and a title defense. After Friday’s 3-1 win over Chicago, Gotham led by six points with four matches left.
Against Chicago, Dudley completed all three of her dribbles, recovered four loose balls and won six of 10 ground duels. Coach Juan Carlos Amoros said she was among the best players despite recording no goal or assist, praising her chance creation and defensive work.
The previous weekend, Dudley scored both goals in Gotham’s 2-1 win at North Carolina, including a 91st-minute winner. She said adjusting to the pros has meant learning when to use her speed and resetting after fouls rather than letting frustration disrupt her focus.
