A hit by Rams players Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart sidelined Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart for the 2026 season. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo expects the Giants to discuss free agent Jimmy Garoppolo for veteran depth; Los Angeles had wanted him back.
Garoppolo turns 35 in November and spent the past two seasons with Los Angeles. The Rams drafted Ty Simpson 13th overall in 2026, and Stetson Bennett has taken over Garoppolo’s backup role behind Matthew Stafford, who remains healthy.
Garafolo said Garoppolo had considered retirement but was working out and would pursue the right opportunity. Jake Haener is set to back up the Giants against the Titans this week.
