Marcus Semien returned to Arlington with the Mets Tuesday, his first visit since Texas traded him, and said he misses the Rangers’ 2023 championship team. He said bringing the franchise its first World Series title meant a lot; Texas honored him with a tribute video.
Semien told DLLS Sports he remains close to former teammates, naming Corey Seager, Adolis García and the pitchers who helped build the 2023 club. The Mets won 6-3 in his return, though Semien went 0-for-5.
Semien played all 162 games in the 2023 season, hitting .276 with 29 home runs and 100 RBIs, and homered in Games 4 and 5 of the World Series. Texas traded him to the Mets for Brandon Nimmo last November, ending his four-year Rangers tenure.
