Freida Parton says there is no feud over Dolly’s estate. A judge’s temporary restraining order requires Dolly’s nephew Bryan Seaver to stay away from She's Alive employees and certain others connected to the dispute; he disputes that his messages were threats.
She's Alive, LLC, formed to protect Dolly’s business interests, filed suit Sept. 22 in Davidson County Chancery Court. The company alleges Seaver made threatening and intimidating statements after his security work for Dolly’s properties ended, and sought money while citing his military-contractor background and access to weapons. Seaver had worked in Dolly’s security operation for more than 20 years.
The judge granted the order on Sept. 23; the allegations have not been adjudicated. Seaver told TMZ he never directly threatened She's Alive manager Danny Nozell or anyone associated with the company and has not denied sending the messages cited in the suit. He described some as private “rage-talk” between two men grieving after Dolly’s death, saying he stood by many underlying sentiments but disputed that the messages were threats. Freida said the family loves Seaver but did not address the lawsuit’s allegations.
