Fred said the idea came from a Father’s Day gathering in 1990, after Donald had appeared on the New York Post’s front page for eight straight days with personally negative headlines. He recalled Donald looking gloomy and said Robert Trump reportedly explained it was because Donald was not on that day’s cover.
