Former Meta CTO Mike Schroepfer outlines wave-powered AI data center concept

Former Meta CTO Mike Schroepfer described a proposed floating AI inference center powered by wave-energy buoys. The buoys would use their motion to pump water that runs turbines; Starlink would provide connectivity, while cold seawater would aid cooling.

Schroepfer said a broad band of the Southern Ocean has 10 terawatts of wave energy that is not being harnessed.
