DOJ cited MS NOW’s report about possible sites for Trump’s name, including Ford’s Theatre, and Trump’s Truth Social denial in a Wednesday filing defending the media ban on Politico, CNN and MS NOW; it said exhibits supported its claim the outlets breached expected decorum.
MS NOW reported that officials were circulating a list of government sites where Trump could add his name, including Ford’s Theatre. The outlet said it was unclear how seriously the theater was being considered or how the administration would attach his name to it. Trump called the report a “ridiculous lie” and “FAKE NEWS!” on Truth Social Wednesday evening.
Politico, CNN and MS NOW have described Trump’s actions as an assault on the First Amendment and urged a judge to restore their White House access.
