The recap said the shortstop's heels were on the outfield grass, contrary to a rule requiring infielders to set up on the dirt. Davis Schneider and Charles McAdoo walked, but Myles Straw struck out looking to end the inning.
Van Eyk, called up that day, gave up four hits and a home run, hit one batter and struck out two. Chase Lee pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings with three strikeouts; Brendan Cellucci recorded four outs and allowed a walk.
