Firefighters carry sheep ashore after River Great Ouse rescue

Firefighters from Huntingdon and Cambridge rescued a sheep from the River Great Ouse near Meadow Lane in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, at about 16:00 BST on Tuesday, bringing it safely to dry land on a sled.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service urged people not to attempt rescuing animals from water, but to call the fire service. A spokesperson also advised animal owners to secure fences and gates to reduce the risk of animals getting stuck in rivers.
