Elves Brener returns from a 13-month layoff to face Josiah Harrell at UFC Vegas 121 on Saturday, predicting a knockout or submission. Brener has lost three straight; Harrell is dropping from welterweight to lightweight for the first time in nearly four years.
Harrell's first MMA defeat came in February, when Jacobe Smith knocked him out in the first round of a welterweight bout. Brener said he stepped away to rest his body and mind, and used the break to develop his game.
Brener said a difficult weight cut before his fight with Myktybek Orolbai taught him to prioritize making weight. He predicted Harrell would find the move from 170 to 155 pounds difficult.
