DoorDash’s $131.5 million New York City settlement covers about 264,000 Dashers underpaid, unpaid or paid late from April 22, 2022, to June 28, 2026; $12.3 million is for missing or late pay. Workers need not file claims, and payments start in fall 2026.

About 209,000 workers are linked specifically to missing or late payments; Reuters reports a median payment of roughly $48, and each affected Dasher is guaranteed at least $10. More than $83 million resolves a separate dispute over pay for time logged into the app without an active delivery; the settlement allocates more than $115 million to worker relief and more than $16 million to city penalties and costs.

DoorDash attributed the errors to technical bugs and complex delivery cases, including trips crossing city limits, multiple pickup or drop-off locations, partial deliveries and cancellations. The company said it fixed the systems and called the errors unintentional. DoorDash maintained its on-call pay calculation was fair, practical and legal, but the city disagreed; the company agreed to use the city’s method going forward. The settlement requires monthly payment data to city regulators for three years, and workers can share trip and earnings records with officials. Identified workers are expected to receive personalized notices.
