Twenty-five divorced men responding to a BuzzFeed Community prompt describe loneliness, less time with their children and difficulty rebuilding their identities. Their accounts also touch on financial strain, custody disputes and lost friendships.

One Arizona respondent said his ex-wife took him to court to reduce visitation after he relocated for work. He said he spent more than $20,000 in the first year flying to see his daughters and bringing them to him.
