DHS leaves Dawkins video online after NFL requests its removal

The Department of Homeland Security had not removed its social media post featuring former Eagles safety Brian Dawkins by Monday afternoon, despite an NFL request to take it down. The league confirmed its request to Front Office Sports.

The post shows Dawkins making tackles and celebrating, with the caption “Our time has come,” and responds to a headline about a “huge migrant caravan” headed for the U.S. southern border. DHS said Border Patrol was tracking a caravan that left San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on Sept. 20, 2026, and monitoring it with international partners.

A DHS spokesperson told Front Office Sports the agency would use every “Weapon” at its disposal to keep Americans safe, echoing Dawkins’s NFL nickname, “Weapon X.” The spokesperson also said the border had remained “closed and secured” for 16 months and that people attempting to enter illegally would be apprehended, prosecuted and removed.
