Three Detroit starters—Christian Mahogany, Blake Miller and Tate Ratledge—were limited Thursday, but the projected line was not expected to change for Sunday's game against the Jets. Ben Bartch and Thomas Harper missed a second straight practice; Harper may miss Sunday's game.
Mahogany (hip) and Miller (knee) may have played last week had the game been on Sunday rather than Thursday, and both appear on track to play again barring setbacks. Ratledge (elbow) was not downgraded to no practice. Guard Ben Bartch (foot) also missed a second straight practice; his prognosis and whether the injury is related to the one that ended his 2025 season are unclear.
Coordinator Kelvin Sheppard said Christian Izien could potentially start beside Chuck Clark at safety as Harper (ankle) missed practice again. Alim McNeill returned to full practice after missing Wednesday; Ahmed Hassanein upgraded from limited to full. Long snapper Hogan Hatten practiced fully, and Dave Fipp said his wrist would not keep him out. For the Jets, Mason Taylor (thumb) was not expected to play; Kene Nwangwu (back), Francisco Mauigoa (quad) and Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin) did not practice. Joseph Ossai (foot) and Adonai Mitchell (new finger injury) were limited, while David Bailey practiced fully Wednesday.
