Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson said he plans to continue his NFL career after this season and hopes to be a starter, saying he has “a lot of football left.” He spoke after helping Cleveland rally for its first win of the year against Tampa Bay in Week 2.
Watson played better in Week 2 than in Cleveland’s opener against Jacksonville. Head coach Todd Monken described him Monday as a “young and improving quarterback.”
Watson is 31 and has had his Achilles tendon repaired twice; the injury has been one factor in limiting him to 21 games over the past five seasons. His $230 million contract is due to end after this year.
