Darín says Argentina has weathered repeated crises, comparing it to Peter Sellers’ unkillable bugler in “The Party.” He says cuts have affected culture and disability services, while a bill on disability rights and services is being debated in Congress.
The interview was conducted around Darín’s new dark comedy, “Therapy Done Right” (“Lo dejamos acá”), produced by his Kenya Films. It follows a pragmatic psychoanalyst who loses faith in conventional methods and pushes boundaries with patients. After a special screening at San Sebastián, the film is scheduled to stream worldwide on Netflix from Oct. 16.
Darín said he was wrapping up the Madrid run of Bergman’s “Scenes from a Marriage,” followed by a short tour in Argentina, and would spend most of next year working on Season 2 of “The Eternaut.”
