Dan Patrick predicted Sept. 25 that Josh Jacobs may never play for Green Bay again after a judge declined to permanently seal evidence in his misdemeanor case. The NFL is seeking to review the video and has not ruled on discipline.
Jacobs pleaded no contest on Sept. 10 to one misdemeanor count each of battery and criminal damage to property; the court imposed no jail time. He remains on the Commissioner's Exempt List, which is equivalent to paid leave, three games into the Packers' season. A criminal complaint alleged he grabbed his former girlfriend as she tried to leave his garage and threw her to the ground, injuring her head.
The records are held by the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department, which will handle new requests and decide whether disclosure is fair. If the department decides to release them, the victim or Jacobs will have time to appear.
