Curry’s new Warriors deal puts the 2028-29 season in his hands

Stephen Curry agreed to a two-year, $116 million extension with the Warriors, but a player option for 2028-29 lets him choose whether to play that season. He has said his focus is on the next two years.

If Curry plays the option year, the deal would take him through 2029, which the Associated Press described as his 20th NBA season. AP also reported that he signed a $62.6 million extension for 2026-27 in August 2024.
