Colorado rescuer Seth Baker cut a bullsnake free from bird netting that tightened as it struggled. He warns entangled wildlife can be seriously injured or killed, and advises keeping netting taut and off the ground if used, or avoiding it when possible.
Baker said he has personally seen snakes, bats, birds, lizards, mice, rabbits and other small animals trapped in netting. He said struggling can tighten it around an animal’s body, legs, wings or neck.
