CNN said its staff were barred from Air Force One for President Donald Trump’s Saturday Tennessee trip; Alayna Treene said LindellTV and Real America’s Voice would serve as secondary pool outlets. A judge had ordered White House access restored to CNN, MS NOW and Politico.
U.S. District Judge Tim Kelly temporarily struck down the ban early Thursday, saying it was likely unconstitutional. The administration initially defied his order, then relented minutes before the Justice Department was due to respond to Kelly’s request for an explanation.
The Associated Press, citing White House guidance, reported that Real America’s Voice directly replaced CNN in the White House pool. Treene said she believed CNN still had access to White House grounds; the effect of the administration’s latest move on the outlets’ ongoing litigation was unclear.
