Paramount CEO David Ellison, slated to take control of CNN through the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, attended Trump’s Thursday White House dinner for Xi Jinping. CNN was barred from covering it hours after a judge ordered White House access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico.
Ellison has long courted Trump as an ally in his push for the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger. Trump’s Justice Department approved the $110 billion acquisition in June; a federal judge still must approve the settlement reached this week with California Attorney General Rob Bonta. Paramount declined to comment.
