One person was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in an accommodation block at the military barracks in Catterick Garrison on Thursday evening. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews stayed at the scene until 02:43 BST.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said multiple crews were sent at 19:48 BST and found the blaze “well alight”; additional resources came from several other stations. On-site personnel kept a watching brief overnight, and a fire investigation was due to take place.
