James Carville called Donald Trump’s Washington makeover personal, arguing Trump dislikes the capital’s architecture and the Constitution’s “inherent modesty.” Trump denied a report that White House officials considered adding his name to Ford’s Theatre.
Carville named the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the reflecting pool and the White House as places he believes Trump has targeted, and accused him of wanting to “destroy Washington.” The report followed failed efforts to put Trump’s name on the Kennedy Center. Trump said he would not want his name attached to a “tragic place,” called the Ford’s Theatre report false on Truth Social and accused Democrats of trying to discredit him.
