Footage confirmed a Carnival Panorama passenger jumped overboard Saturday as the ship sailed from Puerto Vallarta to Long Beach. U.S. and Mexican Coast Guards were alerted; the search would continue. Officials have not identified the passenger or disclosed why he jumped.
The incident occurred on the final day of a seven-night cruise, hours before the ship was scheduled to return to Southern California. After the passenger was reported missing, guests were ordered to their cabins while crew searched the ship and reviewed its man-overboard camera footage.
Carnival said the passenger’s relatives and friends were informed and that its team was assisting his family, who had been traveling with him.
