Calgary has signed Alex Nylander to a one-year, two-way NHL contract worth $850,000 for 2026-27 after his tryout with the Flames. The 28-year-old had 24 goals and 53 points in 65 games for the Toronto Marlies last season and won the Calder Cup.
Nylander spent the previous two seasons in Toronto’s organization, playing 129 regular-season games for the Marlies but appearing in only five NHL games for the Maple Leafs. He has also played for Columbus, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Buffalo; across 126 NHL games, he has 25 goals and 49 points.
