Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has thrown for 648 yards and six touchdowns through two games of his fourth season, tying for the NFL lead in TD passes. Carolina ranks first in passing offense and second in scoring, with a franchise-record 71 points.
Young was benched by then-coach Dave Canales in Week 3 of 2024 after two shaky starts. As a rookie, he took a club-record 62 sacks in 16 starts; after returning to the lineup about two months later, he threw 42 touchdown passes against 15 interceptions and had 10 game-winning drives in his first 24 games after the benching.
Since Carolina’s January NFC wild-card loss, Young has led the offense to three consecutive games with at least 30 points and leads NFL quarterbacks in completions of 25 or more yards. He is competing for a long-term contract extension, while his fifth season is guaranteed.
