Bryce Harper will move from right field to first base against the Rays on Saturday; Bryan De La Cruz takes over in right. Luis Arraez is out with an ankle injury. The Phillies lead Arizona by one game for the NL’s final Wild Card spot, but Arizona holds the tiebreaker.
Interim manager Don Mattingly also shifts Alec Bohm to third base and Bryson Stott to second. Trea Turner stays at shortstop and Kyle Schwarber remains the designated hitter.
Philadelphia entered Saturday 87-73 and had gone 4-6 over its previous 10 games. Harper was 3-for-7 in his previous two games and was batting .270 with 153 hits, 28 home runs and 86 RBIs for the season.
