Boston ended its 2026-27 preseason with a 3-2 overtime loss to Washington on Friday after Morgan Geekie and David Pastrnak erased a 2-0 deficit in the third period. Jordan Kyrou scored 11 seconds into OT; Jeremy Swayman stopped 32 of 35 shots.
Dylan Strome and Tom Wilson scored for Washington in the first two periods, and all three Capitals goals came on the power play. Boston had only 12 shots through 40 minutes before its third-period rally.
The Bruins finished the shortened preseason 2-1-1 and are scheduled to open the regular season Tuesday against the New York Rangers.
