Mark Kotsay says the A’s have given him “no assurances” about his future as manager, despite his guaranteed contract through 2028. The team is 318-489 (.394) since he took over in 2022 and has yet to name a new baseball-operations leader.
The A’s fired GM David Forst in early August. Kotsay said the timeline for choosing the next organizational leader is unsettled and that he would build a relationship with whoever is appointed. The team reportedly hopes to select a GM by season’s end—presumably during the postseason—and has five known candidates.
