Art Rooney II presented J.T. Thomas with a Super Bowl XIII ring at the Steelers’ 2026 Hall of Honor event, 48 years after sarcoidosis sidelined the cornerback for the 1978 season and championship game. Thomas returned in 1979 and won another Super Bowl with Pittsburgh.
Thomas had already been announced as part of the Steelers’ 2026 Hall of Honor class, but the ring was a surprise. In his return season, he made 13 starts.
