Armstrong keeps $400,000 Bitcoin outlook for 2030 but calls it speculative

TheStreet

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong reaffirmed his view that Bitcoin could reach $400,000 by 2030, but said the forecast was speculation, not a guarantee. He said Bitcoin could climb to $80,000-$90,000 by year-end, while short-term prices are harder to predict.

Armstrong said his 2030 estimate assumes Bitcoin repeats patterns from earlier four-year cycles, potentially reaching three times its $126,080 all-time high recorded Oct. 6, 2025. He cautioned that past performance cannot predict future results. Bitcoin was trading at $83,558 at the time of writing, according to Decibel.

Armstrong also said investors could start with a 1% Bitcoin allocation in a diversified portfolio. He called the failed Senate cloture vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act disappointing, but said the SEC and CFTC were willing to issue clear crypto rules under their existing authority even without Senate action.
