Arizona holds off Rockies' rally for 12-8 win in Colorado's final home game

Colorado cut a 12-1 deficit to 12-8, but Arizona held on to complete a series sweep in the Rockies’ final home game of the season. The loss left Colorado 32-49 at Coors Field; the Diamondbacks had scored six runs in the first inning.

Tanner Gordon was charged with 10 runs on 12 hits and four walks in 3⅓ innings. Colorado's late scoring included a three-run homer by Cole Carrigg and a solo homer by Zac Veen; the Rockies finished with 17 hits and left 10 runners on base.

The Rockies next play a three-game, season-ending series at the White Sox. Tomoyuki Sugano is set to face Sean Burke in the opener, with first pitch at 5:40 p.m. MDT.
