In his new book, Anthony Scaramucci revisits his 11 days as Donald Trump’s White House communications director in 2017, when his pregnant wife filed for divorce and he missed their son’s birth; he says they are now closer than ever.
Scaramucci writes that his judgment was impaired when he joined Trump, after supporting Jeb Bush and other Republicans in the 2016 primary. He says ego influenced his decision and advises against letting it drive personal or professional choices or treating relationships as disposable.
Scaramucci was fired by John Kelly after less than two weeks. His tenure included the resignations of press secretary Sean Spicer and chief of staff Reince Priebus, an obscenity-laden interview with The New Yorker, and a Cabinet Room debate that Scaramucci says embarrassed Trump.
