Pennsylvania reports 890 measles cases this year, with 55 confirmed since Wednesday, state officials said. At least 173 people have been hospitalized; four measles-associated deaths have been reported, and four cases involved fully vaccinated people.
The cases span 39 counties. Lancaster County has the most, with 359, followed by Mifflin County with 102. Since the outbreak began in late April, the health department says it has administered more than 5,300 MMR vaccinations at 165 pop-up clinics in affected communities.
The health department says providers have seen increased interest in MMR vaccination. About 25,000 doses are typically administered each month, compared with more than 49,000 in August 2026 and more than 38,000 in the first three weeks of September. Nationwide, more than 3,600 measles cases had been confirmed in 45 states and Washington, D.C., in 2026, according to CDC data.
