Missouri resident Anna Wolfe, who did not know she was pregnant, went to a hospital at 4 a.m. after pain began around midnight in August and learned she was in labor. She gave birth to daughter Jade two hours later; the baby went home Sept. 21.
Wolfe said she had felt sick at times in the preceding months but considered that normal and continued having monthly periods. Her daughter weighed just over 4 pounds at birth and spent a few weeks in hospital, where she needed time to strengthen her lungs. OB-GYN Varun Sankuratri told Fox 10 News that cryptic pregnancy—when someone does not know they are pregnant—is extremely rare.
