The Los Angeles Angels beat the Seattle Mariners 7-5 after defensive miscues helped set up Christian Moore’s three-run homer in the sixth. Seattle rallied with two runs in each of the final two innings but could not catch up.
Bryce Miller had allowed two runs before the sixth, when a fly ball fell between Leo Rivas, Michael Arroyo and Julio Rodríguez. Rivas then mishandled a pickoff throw, and a possible inning-ending double play was missed before Moore’s homer.
Zach Neto homered off reliever Eduard Bazardo in the eighth. Both teams had already been eliminated, while the Angels were trying to avoid a 100-loss season.
