AMD crossed a $1 trillion market value on Sept. 21 after its shares rose 187% year to date. The Motley Fool’s growth case points to AI inference and data-center CPUs, as well as large GPU supply deals with OpenAI and Meta that include warrants for AMD shares.
Bloomberg Intelligence forecasts that the inference market will be roughly twice as large as AI training by 2032. The article says AMD is targeting that opportunity with chiplet GPUs, its ROCm software and Helios, an AI server developed after its ZT Systems acquisition.
OpenAI and Meta each have deals for up to 6 gigawatts of AMD GPUs, estimated at more than $100 billion apiece; first-gigawatt shipments were expected in 2026’s second half. AMD will issue the companies warrants for up to 160 million shares—about 10% of the company—with vesting based on stock-price levels up to $600, a level the stock has already reached, as well as technical and commercial conditions. AMD projects the data-center CPU market could reach $220 billion in coming years and believes it can capture about half. The article notes AMD was not among Stock Advisor’s 10 recommended stocks.
