Alvaro Núñez completed the solo Race Across America in 11 days, 23 hours and 3 minutes, riding 3,000 miles to honor his father, who was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. He says he slept roughly 12 hours total and experienced hallucinations and physical distress.
Núñez says his father remains in treatment but is doing much better. He documented the journey in the documentary The Road to Why, available on Apple TV and Amazon.
